THE ELECTRIC CAR DAY AT THE SEAL COVE AUTO MUSEUM WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!
Here is Barbara Fox, a Museum Official, getting a ride in Art Haines’ SUNNev electric vehicle, which is manufactured right here in Maine.
A new public electric car charging station was dedicated at the Museum during Electric Car Day. Left to Right: Dr. Mark Kandutsch with his ‘72 Saab 96 that he electrified, Roberto Rodriquez, Executive Director of the Museum and James Collier, President of the Bar Harbor (MDI) Rotary Club which is the sponsor of the charging outlet.
Here’s a peek under the hood of Mark Kandustch’s electric car.
Here is CW Henderson’s electric powered Porche getting a boost.
The Museum also had its two beautifully restored antique electric autos on display outside.
There was lots of sunshine, plenty of food and drinks and both Art Haines and Bill Drinkwater gave short talks about electric vehicles.
Visit Them. You’ll Get a Charge Out Of This Museum!

THE THIRD ANNUAL ELECTRIC CAR ENTHUSIASTS’ POTLUCK BBQ WAS A FUN TIME FOR ALL
About 20 people showed up, the food was great and this time we had 4 electric cars and one electric bicycle on display. Also, we had both mechanical and electrical engineers on hand and they offered plenty of very helpful advice.
This is some of the food we had. Art Haines is in the background.
Here’s Wayne Krauth showing his car
This is under the hood of Walter Guinon’s electric conversion.
Here is Art Haine’s SUNNev electric four wheeler kit car

Here are a few of the happy folks who attended the BBQ.
MANY THANKS to all who participated, and I hope to see you all and even more folks and more electric vehicles next year!
If anyone has any more photos from this event please send them along.

MICHAEL LEWIS GAVE TALK ABOUT ELECTRIC CARS TO MAINE ANTIQUE CAR ENTHUSIASTS
On Sunday, January 17th, 2010 Electrathon World Record holder Michael Lewis from Portland, Maine gave an interesting talk in Augusta at the annual dinner and confab of the Maine branch of The Antique Automobile Club of America. He talked about the history of early electric cars, and of his own multi-year successful quest to break the World’s Record for Electrathon electric cars by averaging 63 mph for one hour on a closed course.

THIS ELECTRIC SNOWMOBILE IS FROM MARK BLACKIE OF SCARBOROUGH, MAINE
Here are a couple pictures of my electric conversion of my Dad's 1970 Skidoo Nordic 399. It's still in the Frankenstein's monster state of wiring and refinement. It's 36 volts, low speed, short range, and good for only about eight laps around the house without annoying any of the neighbors, but good fun for my three kids. I'll bump the voltage up whenever I can scrounge all the parts together. There’s still much to be done to reduce drag and extend range, if time ever allows. I've got a spare pallet jack motor and low voltage controller that I'll dig up the pictures on and take you up on the free ad. Right now they are just taking up space in my garage. - Mark -
Here’s a photo of me and my youngest daughter riding it.
